I am a content specialist across media (web, museums, science writing) — I thrive on complicated.
WHAT STEPS DID IT TAKE YOU TO GET WHERE YOU ARE NOW?
I have followed the flow of doing what I like to do, which is also what I am good at, understanding that I am my brand and acting accordingly, building a solid, interconnected network and doing good work.
And most importantly: trusting that I am on the right path and that opportunities can come from anywhere.
Choosing to believe in magic.
HOW DO YOU STAND OUT IN YOUR FIELD?
I develop long term, trust-full relationships with my clients and partners.
I love complex, seemingly impossible projects.
I’m committed to a strategic approach: I always begin with the user/visitor experience goals and craft the words from there.
As someone who often works on projects that cause disruption and change I also coach my clients on change management while doing the actual work.
I am here to serve, not to feed my ego.
I consider my projects to be divine assignments that are part of a larger plan.
WHAT TYPES OF COLLABORATIONS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR RIGHT NOW?
I collaborate all the time with designers and creative teams! I’d love to hear about opportunities. My skill set is flexible so I’d be glad to move into new realms and see what I have to offer.
WHY DO YOU DO WHAT YOU DO? HOW DOES THIS HELP YOUR IDEAL CLIENT?
It is one of the ways that I raise the vibration in the world, which is my spiritual purpose. Creating order from chaos is my particular skill and writing and speaking are my best tools.
Others value what I do because I can turn complicated piles of information into meaningful experiences. I have been told: “I’m glad you like to do those things because that is something I could never do.”
Where others are frozen by overwhelm in the face of chaos, I turn chaos into order and meaning.
WHAT WOULD YOU TELL YOUR YOUNGER SELF?
Trust the process! You’re on the right path.
WHAT NEEDS REVAMPING IN YOUR LIFE RIGHT NOW?
I need to get better at being still more.
WHO INSPIRES YOU?
I have been mentored by local writers, such as David Carpenter, dee Hobsbawn-Smith, and also my shaman, Trent Deerhorn, and coaches Jill Ethier and Allison Braun. I’m inspired by my 100-year-old grandmother, and anyone who shines their heart fully out into the world.
WHAT ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT RIGHT NOW?
For the last two years I have been working on content development for Wanuskewin Heritage Park’s new exhibits. It has been completely transformative to be part of that sacred process.
